Protograms's Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share your personal data when you use Protograms on the web, in our iOS app, or on other platforms. You can review our practices using the headings below. If you have questions, contact us using the information at the end of this policy.

What Is Personal Data at Protograms?

We treat information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual, or that can reasonably be linked to you, as “personal data.” This includes information that directly identifies you, such as your email address, as well as information that does not directly identify you but may reasonably be used to identify you in context, such as your username or product interaction history. Aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you is not personal data for the purposes of this policy.

This Privacy Policy applies to Protograms. It does not apply to third-party websites, prototypes, or tools that makers link to or embed in the service. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

After you sign in to the web app, you may delete your account at any time from account settings. Deleting your account removes your profile, submissions, and engagement data tied to your account. Some analytics records may remain in anonymized form where identifiers have been removed.

To exercise your rights or ask a privacy question, email support@protograms.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

Personal Data We Collect from You

We strive to collect only the personal data we need to operate Protograms. The data we collect depends on how you use the service.

Account Information. When you create an account, we collect information such as your email address, display name, username, profile photo, and bio. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive information made available by that provider, such as your name, email address, and profile image.

Contact Information. If you choose to provide it, we may collect a phone number during account registration or support interactions.

User Content. When you submit a product, we collect the information you provide, including title, description, vision, category, tags, links, media files, collaborator details, and related metadata.

Usage Data. We collect information about how you interact with Protograms, such as feed views, product views, likes, saves, tries, comments, shares, link clicks, and similar engagement events.

Device and Technical Information. We may collect technical information such as browser type, device type, IP address, and diagnostic data needed to secure and operate the service.

You are not required to provide all personal data we request. However, if you choose not to provide certain information, we may be unable to offer some features, such as publishing products or saving your activity.

Personal Data We Receive from Other Sources

If you sign in with Apple, Google, or another supported identity provider, we receive personal data from that provider according to your account settings and the provider's policies. We use that information to authenticate you and populate your profile.

How We Use Personal Data

We use personal data to provide, maintain, and improve Protograms, including to:

  • Create and secure your account
  • Display your profile and submissions in the feed and on profiles
  • Enable social features such as likes, saves, feedback, and sharing
  • Provide builder insights and product analytics to makers
  • Operate search, recommendations, and discovery features
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for cross-app tracking or to deliver third-party advertising on Protograms.

How We Share Personal Data

We share personal data only as described below:

  • With other users, when you choose to make content public on Protograms
  • With service providers that help us operate the service, such as hosting, authentication, database, storage, and analytics providers
  • When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
  • To protect the rights, safety, and security of Protograms, our users, or others
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy

Service Providers

We use trusted third-party providers to operate Protograms, including:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
  • Apple and Google — optional sign-in services
  • Vercel — application hosting and performance analytics
  • Microsoft Azure — media storage and delivery, where applicable

These providers process personal data on our behalf according to their agreements with us and their own privacy policies.

Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify personal data associated with your account, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate security purposes.

Children

Protograms is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us at support@protograms.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not function properly if cookies are disabled.

International Data Transfers

Protograms may process and store personal data in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. By using the service, you understand that your information may be transferred to locations that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Updated” date above. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice as appropriate, such as in the app or by email.
